Hockey is a sport where sportsmanship and respect are paramount. We want to keep it that way. That is why we have drawn up a code of conduct.
In this document, the KNHB code of conduct is supplemented with matters that HCY considers important. HCY wants to actively work on raising awareness of the code of conduct among players, supervisors, trainers, supporters and parents/guardians. The code of conduct has been drawn up so that everyone knows what behaviour is expected of him or her. After all, hockey is a meeting place where athletes can play together with pleasure and satisfaction.
If you have any doubts about safety and (sexual) intimidation, you can contact the Confidential Contact Person (VCP). A Confidential Contact Person offers a listening ear and treats your (story) with respect, works confidentially, gives advice and refers you for appropriate help.

Supervisors themselves have a duty to report sexual harassment. Click here for more information.
If there is sexual harassment, you can also contact the NOC*NSF Sports Confidence Point with initial questions, doubts or to tell your story. The Sports Confidence Point can be reached from Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 22:00 and on Saturday from 12:00 to 16:00 on number 0900-2025590 (€ 0.10 per minute). Another option is to email: [email protected] or visit the website www.centrumveiligesport.nl.
HCY has its own disciplinary committee. This committee deals with match-related issues for all parties involved in a match: players, supervisors and referees. This can relate to abuses, red and yellow cards. The disciplinary committee has its own regulations. These contain the disciplinary rules that apply at HCY. The contact address for questions is [email protected].
At HCY we handle your data with care and in doing so we comply with the law. This means, among other things, that we only process the data of you that is necessary and that we do not store your data longer than necessary. We also ensure that your data is well secured and that access to your data is limited to only those persons who really need the data for their task. Detailed information about this can be found in our privacy statement. We do our best to handle confidential data as carefully as possible. If you have any questions or comments about this, wish to object, or encounter situations that are unacceptable, please report it via [email protected].
Members and volunteers of HCY can also come into contact with personal data. This includes lists of e-mail addresses that coaches and team managers use to organize everything related to the competition, or data that committees use to arrange bar shifts or schedule referees. The guideline 'handling confidential information' describes how we expect HCY to handle personal data.
At HCY we find it fun and important to keep our members involved in our activities and for that reason photos are placed on the website and social media. These include photos of championship teams and match and atmosphere images. A balance is made between privacy and the importance of the publication. If you object to the publication of a photo, you can object to [email protected].
A VOG is considered proof of good behavior and is part of the safe sports climate that HCY wants to offer. By requesting a VOG as an association, you show that you take the safety of your members and/or participants in (club) activities seriously.
Applying for a VOG is free and is initiated by HCY for all volunteers and employees aged 18 and over who have or may have to deal with children. The volunteer/employee completes the application and sends the VOG to: [email protected]. A VOG is valid for three years.
The following privacy guidelines are followed:
If you have any questions, please contact: [email protected].
You can read more about the VOG at the KNHB and in the HCY Code of Conduct, article 7.1 How do I behave as a volunteer/employee?
