HCY offers hockey for everyone, at all levels. The senior line 18 (Men 1, Men Young 1, Women 1, Women Young 1 and Women Young 2) is recognizable and is mainly accessible to our own youth players. They are preferably used for various activities within HCY, including coaching and training youth players. Women 1 and Men 1 currently play in the 3rd division.

The other senior teams are divided based on the wishes and preferences of the player, whether or not individually. Of course, levels and skills are taken into account, but in general this is arranged automatically. The core of recreational sports is the social aspect of a team sport. The aim is to achieve numerical proportionality between the teams, but ultimately the teams themselves determine the composition, assisted by the Technical Committee. In addition, there is a division based on age. A "Young Seniors" competition is intended for players between 18 and 25 years old. In this optional competition (up to the res. third class) regional games are played against peers. The regular senior category is that of 18 to 35 years old.

Seniors are given priority as coaches and/or trainers of youth players. If a member shows talent for giving training, he/she is offered the opportunity to do the HT2 course, in which the member commits to giving training and/or supervising trainers for at least two years. When a parent develops into a good trainer, he/she is given the same opportunities.

The following principles apply to the training for Seniors:

  • The D1 and H1 receive 1.5 hours of training twice a week on the water field from a trainer appointed by HCY.
  • All following senior teams will receive 1 training session of 1.5 hours once a week from a trainer appointed by HCY. They can schedule a second training session themselves if there is room for it.
